Mkuze Falls Lodge overlooks Shembe Mountain and the spectacular Mkuze waterfall and straddles the northern bank of the Mkuze River. The lodge is situated within a unique ecological region, which is host to a tremendous diversity of flora and fauna including elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and hippo and a wide variety of antelope species including nyala and red duiker.

Mkuze Falls Lodge features nine luxuriously appointed thatched chalets. Each chalet has its own private deck and view of the river or the waterfall, each with en-suite facilities and each with its own private plunge pool and outside shower. The central lodge complex is beautifully appointed and boasts a conference centre for eighteen delegates.

The lodge is the ideal environment to relax and enjoy the views and sounds of the African bush and the river below. Mkuze Falls lodge provides open-vehicle and guided walking safaris, a chance to probe and explore the surrounding wilderness and to unlock the mysteries of the wild. Mkuze combines the best of the bush with a refined elegance and fine cuisine.

Tented Camp
Set within the Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve the tented camp is uniquely situated on the Mkuze River, overlooking a favourite winter waterhole and sandbank. The tented camp has five "Hemingway" style East African safari Tents, with double and twin beds, and each with inside and outside en-suite facilities. Most important however each tent overlooks a game waterhole for viewing throughout the day.

Starlit evenings are enjoyed in the boma, where the pure spirit of Africa is beckoned by the sounds of the Zulu drumbeat. The evening tones ring forth the call of a nightjar, zebra in the distance, hippopotamus and the awesome roar of the lion or trumpet of the elephant. This lodge is a must for nature lovers seeking an intimate African safari experience that gets you close to the wilderness of Africa.
