Opstal Manor House in the De Hoop Nature Reserve
The Opstal Manor House is a beautiful original home, which has been restored to its former glory. The house accommodates 6 people in 3 en suite bedrooms and offers a fully catered lodge experience. The Fig Tree Restaurant serves three meals a day as well as teas and coffees and snacks throughout the day. Picnic baskets are available for all day excursions into the park.

The Opstal area is a central base from which to explore the reserve. De Hoop offers a complete and diverse range of activities and experiences. As a protected Marine Reserve, De Hoop offers one of the best and most accessible locations to view whales in the world. The diversity of eco-systems from the coast, sand dunes, rare fynbos plants, wetlands and the Potberg Mountains is enthralling to nature lovers. De Hoop offers great opportunities for whale watching (including the multi-day Whale trail), birding, hiking various day walks, mountain biking along the many gravel roads, horse riding or scenic game drives. Opstal also has a tennis court, swimming pool and a boules courtyard. Alternatively, lazing on the beach or snorkelling in one of the many turquoise rock pools is simply another way to pass a rewarding day.
